COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Mr. Pita has opened its first restaurant in North Carolina, the company announced. 

The 2,200 square-foot unit is located at 7520 South Tryon in Charlotte, near I-485 in the Whitehall area. Patrick Mulcrone of Charlotte, Joseph Gerbino, of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Tom Bommarito of Troy, Mich., are the franchisees. 

The unit is the first of 30 Mr. Pita restaurants the three plan to open in greater Charlotte.
